Frequently asked questions
How do people at Hanks Chapel Church express worship?
We believe in a variety of different expressions of worshiping God. As a Hanks Chapel Church attendee, you are welcome to worship God in a way that expresses your heart toward him. For some, that's quietly reflecting on the words; for others, that's clapping, raising their hands, and singing out.
Is there something for children?
When we expect children, we set aside a special 10-minute service just for them before the worship service begins (see sample below). As our congregation grows, we will incorporate Sunday school and church services. We have several events geared toward the children in our community, such as Easter Egg Hunts, hot-dog luncheons, and the Fall Festival.
This year, we plan to hold an Ice Cream Social in August to celebrate the close of summer. We have a beautiful Nursery ready to be used. Our members will gladly care for your infant during service so you can enjoy the adult service.
How do I get involved?
Attending services is a good start, but we hope you will always ask yourself: "What is my next step?" You can check out what is happening by navigating the church website's Upcoming Events page.
Do I have to dress up?
At Hanks Capel Church, you'll see many people in jeans and khakis and fewer in suits and dresses. You're welcome to dress casually and come as you are.
Will I understand the message, even if I know little about the Bible?
Our messages are prepared to connect with people's lives by using the ageless wisdom of Scripture and presenting it creatively yet straightforwardly. The services are designed to be easily understood by individuals who are exploring what it means to have a personal relationship with Jesus.
Are there any monetary contributions required or expected?
If you are new to or visiting Hanks Chapel Church, please do not feel obligated to give. You will never be pressured to make monetary contributions. Our ministries are supported by regular attendees who give as an active worship to God.
How can you become a member?
Qualifying individuals can be received into the Church during any worship. Hanks Chapel warmly welcomes members who acknowledge Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, have been baptized, and commit to actively participating in our community through their presence, prayers, service, and gifts. How can you become a member of Hank's Chapel Church? There are three ways:
Profession of Faith and Baptism: New believers express their faith and receive baptism.
Transfer from Another Church: Members from other Christian churches can present a letter of transfer and engage in our worship and work.
Reaffirmation of Faith: Existing believers renew their commitment to service.
Children's Church
Held in the sanctuary just before the worship service begins. Each child chooses a small toy for participation. As our children's numbers grow, we will add Sunday School
